About d-spa
Dr Joseph Badr
Dr. Joseph Badr studied dentistry at the University of Melbourne, going on to redefine the profession. 20 years ago, he established d–spa, the world’s first holistic dental spa that uniquely marries cutting-edge technology and the clinical expertise of a dentist’s surgery with the comforts of a calming health spa.
His revolutionary vision for dentistry resulted in him founding d-spa on a hygiene-based preventative model. Similarly, this vision transcends his unique operational business model; providing the highest level of service while offering the best value to the individual.
Renowned in his field, Dr. Badr continues to practise, while also focussing on innovation within his industry and beyond.

Our technology
We pride ourselves on using the latest dental technologies at our Melbourne clinics to offer more accurate diagnoses and safer, more comfortable treatments.
Digital intra-oral radiography & camera
We use digital intra-oral radiography to help diagnose and treat a range of oral health problems. This method uses 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays and has the advantage of being instantly viewable on a computer screen. This makes diagnosis easier by reducing the need for a second appointment and lengthy visits.

Our intra-oral camera gives you the same view of your teeth and gums as your dentist, helping you to get more involved in your dental treatment if you so wish. You’ll be able to see first-hand any fractured fillings, decayed teeth, inflamed gums or other problems that may be present, giving you a better understanding of your oral health. His revolutionary vision for dentistry resulted in him founding d-spa on a hygiene-based preventative model. Digital OPG
Our dentists can also use digital OPGs to investigate areas of interest in greater detail, such as impacted wisdom teeth or temporomandibular joints (TMJ), without the need for a referral and added hassle. This can help save you time and reduce the need for follow-up appointments.
Ceramic restorations
We’ve made the decision not to have our own dental laboratory at d-spa, but rather to engage the services of some of Australia’s best laboratories. This means we can offer high quality ceramic restorations to help restore strong, natural-looking smiles.
Materials and equipment
We only use the best materials and dental tools available to provide our patients with optimal dental care. Each item of equipment at d-spa has been carefully selected based on in-depth research.

We are QIP accredited
All d-spa dental clinics are QIP accredited to National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. This means we’re continuously evaluating our team based on Federal and State standards.
